Techmeet IMC-CMS Save San Francisco Indymedia Project
Welcome
Welcome to the trac site for an Indy CMS development evaluation based on CakePHP. Something unique about our evaluation is that it will be released as quick prototypes which will immediately go into production at San Francisco Indymedia and Denmark Indymedia (also http://noborders.org.uk is interested, and http://london.indymedia.org.uk as well) . This is a mutually-beneficial relationship: SF and DK can get their sites online and functioning (which they haven't been for a while), and we get to test our code in real production with real users. For more information about this arrangement, please read the details on the SF-IMC site.
This project is being coordinated with two other groups via imc-cms@lists.indymedia.org mailing list. Group #1 is evaluating Drupal. Group #2 is Plone. The idea is that we will do in-depth analysis and share results around December 1st. Throughout November, we will share with the other groups what types of things we're analyzing so we can compare similar results at the end. At this meeting, we will decide what other info we don't have but is required to make a decision.
Then, throughout December, we'll get that data with the goal of making a final decision by New Years 2008.
